About This Class
My intention for this class is to inspire you to travel inward and possibly to another country. By the end of our time together, you’ll have greater clarity on whether moving abroad is right for you, plus a roadmap to turn your dreams into reality.
Discover if moving abroad is a fantasy, a calling, or a calculated plan for you.
This isn’t a class taught by someone with a single experience abroad, like those who went to Bali to become a yoga teacher and never left. You can find plenty of YouTube videos with the pros and cons of living in various countries, such as Costa Rica, Panama, or Portugal from those who moved back to the US.
I offer a broad perspective; I’ve lived abroad four times in the past 30 years, and each experience has been both unique and enriching.
This class will save you considerable time, effort, and potentially costly mistakes.
You will:
-
Explore the benefits of life abroad
-
Gain the clarity you need to make an informed and empowered decision about moving abroad.
-

-

-
Be able to instantly plug into the community and resources
Hi I’m Elicia, Your Teacher
I’VE LIVED ON THREE CONTINENTS OVER THE PAST 30 YEARS WITH THREE CALLINGS INTO THE UNKNOWN PLUS ONE CALCULATED MOVE…
I have experienced what it was like to study abroad in Australia, without a prior visit or secured housing.
Fourteen years later, I took a leap of faith. I sold everything I owned, enrolled in a TEFL course, and moved to Thailand sight unseen. Instead of teaching English, I leveraged my online marketing skills, exploring the country while building a business and a local online directory. I embraced the nomadic lifestyle, island hopping and navigating visa runs every few months for almost three years.
Nearly a decade later, I embarked on a new adventure, relocating to Costa Rica with my then-husband. We had spent years exploring the country, researching and planning our move. We relocated our two large senior dogs, purchased a home, and applied for residency as investors. After separating, I embarked on a solo journey, relocating to the opposite coast of Costa Rica with my dog. My five years living on both coasts of Costa Rica were incredibly enriching.
Currently, I’m embracing life in the South of France on an extended visitor visa. I successfully navigated the complexities of international travel with my service dog, journeying from Costa Rica to the U.S. and finally to France, all on my own.
Each move was different, each country was different.
I know how to make connections and tap into both the English speaking expat communities and locals. I recently met two women who’ve been living in France for twenty years, and they were surprised by how quickly I’d built a network here. I was even able to share a doctor recommended by the expat community.
Living abroad can change you and your life in profound ways, but it’s not the right path for everyone.
This class will empower you to discern if living abroad aligns with your aspirations, and guide in exploring your personal calling and journey. As always, each person’s path is unique.
While I’m not a travel agent or relocation consultant, and won’t be delving into the specifics of individual countries, I will provide you with the inspiration and tools you need to confidently embark on your own journey.
I’ll equip you with the essential dos and don’ts for a smooth landing.
This process may also reveal if relocating isn’t feasible for you currently, or if the timing simply isn’t right.
If you’re curious about exploring the possibilities of living abroad, I’d be delighted to have you join me for this online class!
